A Note from @ElijahsGirl.
Today’s post is featuring the work of our friend, Mackenzie:
In high school I went through some extremely hard times. Every single day was a struggle and I found myself wishing that I could just go to sleep and never wake up. Because I was so sad and didn’t care much about my life, I was making bad decisions, resulting in endless headbutting with my parents. The only places I was allowed to go were school and church, and trust me, church was the last place I wanted to be. But it was there that I met people who truly saved my life. People who encouraged me when they saw I was having a bad day. People who actually listened to my answer after asking how I was. People who loved me enough to work to help me to be happy again and to show me how beautiful life is, and that it is so worth living. If it weren’t for the words of encouragement, the random texts throughout the day, and the letters I received telling me everything was going to be okay, I’m not sure that I would still be here today.
Now I am entering my second year of college and I recently found out about the More Love Letters movement. I didn’t even think twice about it, I knew I needed to be a part of it. I know how important every single encouraging word was when I was going through hard times and I want to be just one more person to cheer on someone who needs it. I truly believe that love letters can not only change this world, but they will SAVE this world as well. I can only hope that my letters will put smiles on faces, bring hope to the brokenhearted, and encourage the lonely.
Please let me know if you have any questions for me, or if you wish for me to elaborate on anything in particular. Thank you for reading this and for being a part of one of the most amazing movements I’ve ever seen or been a part of.
