Change is never easy. This past February, you all helped make a hard season a little lighter for a very special person.

Abbey’s world had just been shaken. She had recently left a job she had held for many years with

a local museum, and was struggling to find full-time work. She was working multiple part-time jobs

in an effort to save money to adopt..

Friends say that Abbey is a kind and generous soul—always crafting and baking gifts for others.

She also spends time pouring into a passion project to help others with anxiety. With

her workload, however, it was difficult to find time for it all.

Abbey needed some support and encouragement—to be reminded that she was loved.

You did just that.

Abbey’s friend Amanda shared, “I have been absolutely floored with the amount of letters that have come in.

I have never done this before and expected maybe 5 or 6 letters total... My mail delivery has been difficult to

fit in my mail box and I have to empty it daily!”

Abbey is a huge Harry Potter fan, so Amanda decided to add some extra magic to the bundle. She drew an

image of Uncle Vernon saying, “Fine day, Sunday, in my opinion, best day of the week!” in honor of Vernon’s iconic

relief that there is no post on Sundays…until his chimney explodes with letters from Hogwarts! Maybe we’re

biased, but we think that what you all did for Abbey is even more magical than any of Harry’s spells.

”Reading the letters really made me happy for all of the caring people out there who just want their

fellow humans to be happy and feel loved,” Amanda wrote. “I think Abbey will be so grateful.”
