On the Eighth Day of Letter Writing…

It’s time for a Monday fight song ⭐️

Remember: you may never meet the people you’re writing love letters to. You may never know the impact of a single letter or see the ripple effect that it may have. But we’ve been doing this for 10+ years, and if there’s one thing we can tell you, it’s this: your words matter so much. Your words give other people hope. They’re light and love on a dark day, and the power that light holds is indescribable.

Think of a time when someone said something that went straight to your heart. You thought of a moment immediately, didn’t you? You probably even remember the exact sentence, the exact words they used. Words like that - words that hit when you need them most - never leave you.

You can give that gift to someone else this holiday season. And a gift like that?

It’s priceless.

Get your stationery ready, MLL fam - it’s time for Day 8. 👊🏻

BOB

Bob lost his beloved wife of 50 years, Brenda, earlier this year. They had no children, but Brenda had a remarkable gift for spreading joy through letters, postcards, and greeting cards.

Bob's neighbor writes, “Our mailboxes are 10 feet from each other, but she would stamp and mail me cards and postcards all year long. Bob said she would spend hours each day filling out and mailing cards. In honor of Brenda, I would like to nominate Bob to be a letter recipient. I think it is fitting that he should feel the love and support of the letter-writing community. Brenda said she had no talent, but if she could give back to the world by writing a quick note to make someone’s day, that was her gift."

Let’s honor Brenda’s legacy by filling her husband Bob’s mailbox with love and thoughtful letters from a community we know his wife would have absolutely adored.
